KATE: I know that he did. As far as I know he's been clean and sober a few years. Why? Unless it's giving away too much about.
CEDRIC: Well, I don't think I'm giving away too much by saying the protagonist has a drinking problem. The detail and nuance with which its presented would seem to have to come from personal experience. Poignant and poetic.

KATE: Well, I don't see him missing Chloe's graduation, and I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up at her birthday.
