The Mustang in the car port might well be the model year of her birth, and the color seems ther "Brittany Blue" of that year. At the end of the dream, after my abbreviated tour, we see each other. I am at the foot of stairs, she is at top of stairs , somewhat disheveled and in a slip. Dream ends with us staring at each other.

He gets to home improvement, encounters animal shelter via trips to hardware store, finally stops in, meets Her - name TBD - leaves with dogs and her card, Chemistry having been introduced. He is back to work, adds doghouse.
Comes into an auto mechanic job in town when he visits a customize shop in El Paso to inquire about “chopping” the Suburban. He meets her again when he visits the shelter with the dogs. Re his job, re her car problem. She brings it in. He makes diagnosis, it’ll be a couple days. I’ll call you, has her card. She leaves.
She goes home, we meet Her Son, name YBD, soon to turn 17, trending toward delinquency halfway through his junior year of high school. They arrived in July, having left TBD, relocation informed in part by the pending parole-from-prison hearing in or near that state of the boy’s father, her ex, on the verge of getting out after eight years for manslaughter

Spring Cleaning
Spring Cleaning will take until summer
to address the mess I've made
and weaning myself from the somnambulant slumber

enough that my get out of jail card's expired.
One thing and day at a time.
Pick shit off the floor and start scrubbing.
Do not return to the scenes of the crime
like a derelict into the drubbing
that ends at last in the burning
of the bridge back to the rope
to which I have been too long returning
like a hack stand-up comic to his tired trope.
I'm wobbly, winded and weak as a wuss.
My thinking is foglost, my emotions erratic.
I've fallen from the shove that comes from the push
required to stir action from addict.
And just this morning the loud red alert
in the form of a sign with obvious meaning.
Stop Stupid Now or I'm going to get hurt
and start digging in the dirt of Spring Cleaning.
